Pinkberry is a franchisor and operator of over 270 frozen yogurt stores. After acquiring the Company in 2007, Pinkberry’s investors sought an exit from the business and engaged FocalPoint to explore strategic alternatives, including the sale of the Company. After initially experiencing explosive growth, the frozen yogurt industry in the U.S. was challenged by an influx of new companies, which led to over-saturation and intense competition within the marketplace. Despite challenges in the U.S., Pinkberry was performing strongly in international markets. FocalPoint highlighted this and leveraged its international reach to conduct an expansive cross-border marketing effort targeted at international strategic and financial buyers, and negotiated an attractive resolution for the business.
